THE INDIGO REVOLT

This post is completely rhetorical to the title and is all about my infatuation towards the Indigo dyed fabrics that are a perfect summer cooler for your wardrobe and of course they look their best when on a cotton material.

Indigo was initially used from a plant called the Indigofera and widely produced during the colonial times and used to destroy the fertility of the land on which it was produced and hence, the indigo revolt took place in Bengal in 1859 against indigo planters.

Switching back to fashion quotient of this colour and dye, I created three different types of clothes but on a similar palette by combining all with white which definitely stands out with the blue. I decided to experiment my make up skills as well and go for darker shades to contrast the outfit even more. The only safe card I played this time was the silver jewellery which I tried not to over do and tried three different combinations with Bangles earrings and a chunky neck piece.

The first look was a rap around skirt with a white tank and silver accessories.

The second look was a pair of plazzos again with white tank top and similar accessories.

Lastly, the third look is a simple boat neck long kurta designed for your daily wear essentials paired with silver earrings.
